If you’re searching for Cash Central loans in Mississippi, you likely want fast access to a few hundred or a few thousand dollars and a clear idea of what’s legal in your state. CashCentralLoansUSA is an independent loan-request service, not a lender, and we are not affiliated with Cash Central. You complete one form, and we share it with lenders in our network that offer $200 to $5,000. Whether any of them can make an offer depends on whether they are licensed or otherwise able to lend in Mississippi, and on your profile. Availability is never promised.
Mississippi is unusual because three separate laws cover the small-dollar products most people compare. This page walks through each one, with the limits that apply in 2026, then shows how to check a lender and what to expect when you send a request.
How Mississippi law shapes Cash Central loans
The Mississippi Department of Banking and Consumer Finance (DBCF) licenses and supervises non-bank lenders through its Consumer Finance Division. According to DBCF, the division licenses check cashers under the Mississippi Check Cashers Act, credit availability companies under the Mississippi Credit Availability Act, small loan companies under the Small Loan Regulatory Law, and title pledge lenders under the Mississippi Title Pledge Act.
Check cashers and delayed deposit checks
Payday-style transactions in Mississippi are delayed deposit checks under the Check Cashers Act. You write a check, and the licensee agrees to hold it before depositing it. The key limits in section 75-67-519 and DBCF’s check casher regulations are:
- Amount: the total face amount of the check, including fees, can’t exceed $500. DBCF’s regulations also cap all outstanding checks from one customer at $500 in total.
- Fees: up to $20 per $100 advanced for checks of $250 or less, and up to $21.95 per $100 advanced for checks over $250.
- Term: checks of $250 or less can be held for up to 30 days. Checks over $250 require a written agreement and a term of 28 to 30 days.
- No renewals: a licensee can’t renew or extend a delayed deposit check, and the check can’t be repaid with the proceeds of another check from the same licensee or its affiliates.
- Disclosure: the fee must be disclosed both in dollars and as an annual percentage rate.
Credit availability loans
The Mississippi Credit Availability Act covers short-term installment loans. In 2025, Senate Bill 2495 raised the maximum outstanding principal balance from $2,500 to $3,250, added an annual inflation adjustment, and extended the law to July 1, 2030. DBCF’s June 2026 memo raised the maximum to $3,320, effective July 1, 2026. DBCF’s consumer pamphlet describes the main terms:
- Term: 4 to 6 months for loans of $500 or less, and 6 to 12 months for larger loans.
- Monthly handling fee: up to $25 per $100 borrowed, per month.
- Origination fee: 1% of the amount disbursed or $5, whichever is greater.
- Late fee: 10% of the past-due amount, charged 10 business days after the due date, and only if it’s disclosed in the contract.
- Right to cancel: you can rescind within one business day, and you can pay the loan off at any time, which may reduce fees.
Small loans
Traditional small loan companies are licensed under the Small Loan Regulatory Law. DBCF adjusts the maximum loan size for small loan licensees each year, and its June 2026 memo set it at $5,330, effective July 1, 2026. These loans are often repaid in fixed monthly installments; our installment loans page explains how that structure works.
Mississippi limits at a glance
| Product | Maximum amount | Maximum charges | Term |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delayed deposit check, $250 or less | $500 face amount including fees | $20 per $100 advanced | Up to 30 days |
| Delayed deposit check, over $250 | $500 face amount including fees | $21.95 per $100 advanced | 28–30 days |
| Credit availability loan | $3,320 outstanding principal | Handling fee up to $25 per $100 a month | 4–12 months |
What the Mississippi limits look like in dollars
Turning the fee limits into dollars makes it easier to judge an offer:
- A $200 advance on a delayed deposit check can carry a fee of up to $40, so the check would be written for $240.
- A $300 advance can carry a fee of up to $65.85, so the check would be written for $365.85.
- A $1,000 credit availability balance can carry a handling fee of up to $250 for a single month, plus an origination fee of $10 at the start.
Because these fees are charged over weeks or months rather than a full year, the APR on the disclosure can be very high. Look at the APR, the finance charge and the total of payments, and see our rates and terms page for help reading the numbers.
Pay down credit availability loans early when you can. The handling fee is charged monthly on the amount borrowed, and early payoff is allowed. Every month you shorten the loan can lower what you pay.
How to check a lender’s license in Mississippi
- Check DBCF’s licensee lists. DBCF’s Consumer Finance page publishes lists of licensed check cashers, credit availability lenders, small loan lenders and title pledge lenders.
- Search NMLS Consumer Access. DBCF processes applications through NMLS and links to NMLS Consumer Access, so many licensed companies appear on nmlsconsumeraccess.org.
- Match the license to the product. A check casher license doesn’t cover a credit availability loan; each requires its own license.
- Know where to complain. DBCF has an online complaint form, and its consumer pamphlet lists (800) 844-2499. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB.

Representative example: comparing Cash Central loans in Mississippi
As an illustration only, here is how a simple installment loan with no separate fees would work. Mississippi short-term products are priced very differently, so treat this as a yardstick for comparison, not a quote:
| Loan amount | APR | Monthly payments | Payment | Total interest | Total repaid |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | 29.99% | 12 | $194.96 | $339.57 | $2,339.57 |
A $2,000 loan at 29.99% APR over 12 monthly payments would have a payment of $194.96, total interest of $339.57 and a total repaid of $2,339.57. This is not an offer. Your actual cost depends on the lender, the license it holds, the term and your credit.
Eligibility and smart borrowing in Mississippi
Lenders set their own criteria, but most in our network look for:
- Age 18 or older and a Mississippi residential address.
- A regular, verifiable source of income.
- An active checking account in your name.
- A Social Security number, phone number and email address.
- Outstanding delayed deposit checks that already total $500 can block a new one.
- A company that won’t name its Mississippi license, or asks for an up-front fee by gift card or wire, is a warning sign.
- No lender in the network may be licensed or able to lend in Mississippi for your profile at a given time.
Our eligibility page lists the documents lenders usually ask for. If a payment is already hard to make, call the lender before the due date and read our can’t repay a loan page.
Why Mississippians search for Cash Central loans
When people search for Cash Central, they are usually looking for a fast, simple way to borrow online rather than one particular company. That’s a reasonable goal, and in Mississippi it can be met through several different license types. The license tells you which rules apply, so it matters more than the brand name on a website or an ad.
Requests from Mississippi often come down to a handful of everyday situations:
- Air conditioning and power bills. Hot summers can push utility costs up and turn a broken AC unit into an urgent repair.
- Car repairs. In much of the state, a working car is the only practical way to reach a job, school or the doctor.
- Storm damage. Insurance deductibles and quick fixes after severe weather often come due before a claim is paid.
- Medical bills. Out-of-pocket costs for treatment, prescriptions or dental work.
- Timing gaps. Rent or a utility bill due a few days before payday.
Questions to ask before you choose
Whichever product you’re considering, a few direct questions make offers easier to compare:
- Which Mississippi license does the company hold, and under what exact name?
- What is the APR, the finance charge and the total of payments?
- What happens if a payment is late, and what fees apply?
- Can I pay early, and will that lower the cost?
If you came here looking for Cash Central itself, remember that CashCentralLoansUSA is a separate, independent service. Our loans like Cash Central page explains similar options and what to compare.

Frequently asked questions
Are Cash Central loans available in Mississippi through this site?
CashCentralLoansUSA is not Cash Central and is not a lender. You can submit a request from Mississippi, and we share it with lenders in our network. An offer depends on whether a lender is licensed or able to lend in Mississippi and on your profile, so availability is never guaranteed. You see the full terms before you accept anything.
What is the maximum payday loan in Mississippi?
Under the Check Cashers Act, the face amount of a delayed deposit check, including fees, can’t exceed $500. Fees can be up to $20 per $100 advanced on checks of $250 or less and up to $21.95 per $100 on larger checks. Checks over $250 require a 28 to 30 day term, and renewals or extensions aren’t allowed.
What is a credit availability loan in Mississippi?
It’s a short-term installment loan under the Mississippi Credit Availability Act. The maximum outstanding principal is $3,320 from July 1, 2026. Terms run 4 to 6 months for loans of $500 or less and 6 to 12 months for larger loans, with a monthly handling fee of up to $25 per $100 borrowed and a small origination fee.
How do I check whether a lender is licensed in Mississippi?
DBCF’s Consumer Finance page publishes lists of licensed check cashers, credit availability lenders, small loan lenders and title pledge lenders, and links to NMLS Consumer Access. Make sure the license matches the product you’re offered. DBCF also accepts complaints through an online form, and you can submit a complaint to the CFPB.
Can I cancel a credit availability loan in Mississippi?
Yes. DBCF’s consumer pamphlet says you can rescind a credit availability loan within one business day. If you accept the funds before that period ends, the origination fee is non-refundable. You can also pay the loan off at any time, and paying early may reduce the fees you owe because the handling fee is charged monthly.
